| DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONIntroducing firstCHOICE at St. Joseph Mercy Health System(SJMHS). This new staffing pool option, similar in function to an external agency, allows nurses a flexible schedule and the opportunity to earn premium pay.We currently have opportunities for Registered Nurses who have experienceon the Labor and Delivery or Mother / Baby Units. Opportunities exist at our Family Birth Centers of all shifts, weekdays and weekends.Applicants must have two or more years of recent experience practicing in this field to be considered. This position will provide you with the opportunity to practice in advanced and comfortable Family Birth Centers where more babies are born, than any other health system, in Washtenaw and Livingston counties.SUMMARYfirstCHOICE Registered Nurses are utilized to fill short and long-term assignments throughout the health system.The requirements are simple:Must work one shift every sixteen (16) weeks to remain active.Must be willing to work at any of our area hospitals in Ann Arbor,Chelsea, Howell, Livonia or Saline.The firstCHOICE program is the ideal solution for nurses seeking greater work-life balance, flexible scheduling, the opportunity to work in a variety of practice settings, or supplemental income at competitive wages(40 to 44 dollars per hour).EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCECurrent Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Michigan. Current BLS certification;ACLS for Critical Care areas. Applicants must possess a minimum of two years of recent hospital experience as a RN in their desired specialty area. Additionally, applicants must be able to complete the orientation and training that will be provided and be able to work at any of our five area hospitals. Cerner experience is a plus. |
