| Bachelor Degree DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONDifferent from traditional medical care, hospice focuses on comfort and quality of life. Through specialized services, we help patients and their families manage physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Patients live their final days with peace and dignity in the comfort of their own home or care facility. We work with family and friends to help them cope with end of life transition and stress of the approaching loss. Complete services include: nursing, physicians, certified home health aides, social work, spiritual care, bereavement services, and volunteers.SUMMARYPlans and directs volunteer program for Hospice. Participates as a member of Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) for volunteer specific issues. Collaborates and works with Homecare / Hospice staff and other health system staff to provide appropriate volunteer services. Evaluates volunteer program through accepted QI standards and changes and adapts program to meet overall Hospice objectives. Will coordinate volunteer services for both Ann Arbor and Livingston offices. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor Degree in health, social work, or related field preferred. One year supervisory or program management experience required. Minimum of two years work experience with volunteer programs and/or community agencies required. Well developed verbal and written communication skills. Ability to be flexible and work within interdisciplinary team. |
